Poem from my Grade 7 learner

Every night she's filled with fears.
Every night - so much tears.
She hears footsteps on the floor.
Her father bangs the room door.
Her body aches with rough abuse.
Tears fall - she can not refuse
Save our children!

Abandoned children left alone.
Nowhere to call their home.
Neglected and sick, they're so sad.
Their lives have become so bad.
Childhood lost, trying to survive,
Trying their best to stay alive.
Without love, they often cry.
They suffer, I don't know why.
Save our children!

Young and innocent, they cannot fight back.
They bear the cruelty, accept the attack.
Some parents are dead, HIV the cause.
Their bodies pain, covered in sores.
People watch ,many don't care.
Such pain these children must bear.
Save our children!
