Valentine's Love

Inspired love touching one and all
People respond to the loving call
Glorious Saint, your message is clear
You propagate love for all to hear.

Tokens of love fill each shop and street
There’s talk of love where people meet
You’ve taught man well, that love is the cure
For without love there’s problems to endure.

So feel that love, in your heart and mind
Allow it to make you loving and kind
With tokens and words, spread that love around
Let our world, with happiness and joy abound.

Valentine remembered ensures that love grows
And so he rids the world of all its woes.

The waiting game.

When you are forced to wait, don't be traumatized. Play the waiting game. Here's how:
  • Imagine/ Visualize yourself having the things you yearn for. It could be driving your dream car, boarding a plane to the holiday of your choice and so on.It was Einstein that said  "Imagination is everything, it is a preview of life's forthcoming attractions."
  • Sing your favourite songs.
  • Look around. Notice all the beautiful things around you. The flowers ,the birds flying across the sky or anything the fills you with joy.
  • Remember the wonderful moments of your life.Relive them.
  • Think of the things that make you happy.
When you are happy, those happy thoughts go outwards and touch others -making other people happy. You have the capacity to contribute to a happy world. So play the waiting game.

Avoid problems. Think before you speak.

  • Silence is the golden path.
  • If you must speak, talk only that which is necessary.
  • Always talk the truth. Speaking untruth, creates many problems.
  • Speak pleasant words in a cordial manner.
  • It is better to be silent than to say something unpleasant to someone.
  • Never judge others and find faults. Remember when you point a finger at someone ,three other fingers point at you so rather judge yourself first.
  • Smile when you have nothing to say. A smile can strengthen relationships and solve problems.

Happy mothers make happy children

Are you pregnant? Remember :
  • A new life is growing inside you.
  • Your emotions will affect the unborn baby so try to be cheerful by doing the things you enjoy.

  • Music and song can create a fun atmosphere.
  • Laugh a lot -Watch funny movies. Listen to jokes.Laughter can dissolve sickness.
  • Keep busy. Keep fit. Don't allow negative thoughts to cloud your mind.
After baby is born :
  • Spoil yourself .Look good and feel good.
  • Get help. Babies are a lot of work.
  • Enjoy the baby. Babies grow up very fast.
  • Let that love in your heart flow out.Surround your baby with love.
  • Be a part of all babies growing experiences.Do fun things together.
  • Most of all, make living a joyful experience.

To adapt or not

We live in a world of change.
  • Industry and Development change the landscape.
  • Earthquakes and natural disasters change the landscape.
  • New technologies are changing lifestyles.
  • Become aware of changes. Embrace them.
  • To resist change will bring unhappiness.
  • Human nature is dynamic and able to deal with change.
  • Accepting change will ensure your success.

Money is only a means

Use the money you have wisely to:
  -Enjoy a good, comfortable life.
-Visit the p[laces you like to see.
-Pay for the best health care.
-Give to charity and make people happy.
Remember -The more you have ,the more you will have to give.
-Hoarding your money means that someone else will get to spend it when you die -which could happen any time.
-Having a lot of money does not make you better than anyone.

Music for Life

Music is the food of the soul.
Listen to the songs that fill your heart with joy and love.
Make time to listen to your inspiring music because music can :
-Lift your spirits when you are sad.
-Get you dancing and exercising for good health.
-Inspire you to achieve great things.
-Relax and soothe you when you are tired.
-Fill your heart with unexplained joy.

Your wish list - Some guidelines.

  • Start by giving thanks for the things you have.
  • When wishing, prioritize good health. Nothing is fun when you are sick.
  • Happiness can be found among loving people and beautiful surroundings.
  • Visualize having the things on your list and work towards them.Only you can make your wishes come true.

Poem from my Grade 7 learner

Every night she's filled with fears.
Every night - so much tears.
She hears footsteps on the floor.
Her father bangs the room door.
Her body aches with rough abuse.
Tears fall - she can not refuse
Save our children!

Abandoned children left alone.
Nowhere to call their home.
Neglected and sick, they're so sad.
Their lives have become so bad.
Childhood lost, trying to survive,
Trying their best to stay alive.
Without love, they often cry.
They suffer, I don't know why.
Save our children!

Young and innocent, they cannot fight back.
They bear the cruelty, accept the attack.
Some parents are dead, HIV the cause.
Their bodies pain, covered in sores.
People watch ,many don't care.
Such pain these children must bear.
Save our children!

Can money make you happy?

  • Many people with money think they are important because they own more things than poor people.
  • When people die, they leave all their things behind for someone else to enjoy. That means they don't really own anything.
  • Always remember that rich people - Get sick. Have problems with work, family, children, etc.So their lives are a lot similar to poor people.
  • Everyone is equal before God. He has provided for all of us.
  • Life on earth is limited. Spend it wisely. Enjoy all you do. Happiness is your birthright.

Can money make you happy?

Be proud of yourself! That's who you are!

Don't feel bad if someone appears to have achieved  more than you.

Like the fingers on your hand, each person is different. Everyone has a talent that is necessary for the world to function perfectly. Look within and find your talent and be proud of yourself.

Remember for every great invention to work, every little part is important.

Talk is cheap!

Welcome to the world we live in! People very often say things they don't mean.

Pleasant words can be judged by the action that follows. Loving actions support pleasant words.

Truth reveals itself when thought, word and deed are consistent.

Start with yourself. Let your words and actions reflect your thoughts. An honest world starts with you!

Your mind creates your world!

Look around. What do you see?
-If everything looks good, well done!
-If things look bad, only you can change it.

Everything you see, is made possible by your mind.

Positive ,happy thoughts create beautiful surroundings.

Negative, unhappy thoughts make your surroundings ugly. So change the way you think!

To exist means:

  • Appreciating the wonderful that we live in.
  • Being a blessing to all by serving and giving your time and energy to make other people happy.

Clap your hands, Tap those feet:

  • Hands and feet are connected to the rest of the body.
  • Clapping those hands and tapping those feet stimulate your nerve endings and bring good health to the rest of the body.
  • So let the music play on.
  • Clap and tap to the rhythm. Go on. It's fun!
  • Get your friends to join you.
  • Make 2012 a year for health!

Problem ! See the opportunity.

LOOK BEYOND THE PROBLEM!
REMEMBER -To live means to experience good times and bad times.
-Problems provide the challenge that you have the capacity to solve.
-When problems arise face  them with courage. It's an opportunity to develop a strong character.
-Running away from problems makes us weak- gives us a poor self image.
-Share difficult problems :Give your loved ones the opportunity to help you.
-Helping others with their problems will prepare you for challenges of your own.
-Problems are good teachers :You learn as you find solutions to them.

Christmas!!!

A blessed season wrapped in joy
Children wait for that special toy
Imbibing a treasure of spiritual wealth
Of love, sharing and toasting good health.

Carols that inculcate a spirit of bliss
Friendship and forgiveness sealed with a kiss
And making complete a celebration so pure
Is Father Christmas with his gifts galore.

The holy atmosphere, the mystical tales
God acknowledged as the saviour we hail
Decoration aglow on trees around
And all things delicious in homes abound.

Cherish the message that Christmas gives
For in that spirit we all should live.
